Hi Aaron – I met you in a bar tonight. Nice blog! I am going to check out “The Sparrow”. I finished the Juno Diaz book today so I need something new. Keep up the good work!

    Hi Aaron,
I’m trying to vote but when I click on the square nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

Hey Aaron, Who knew you were such a “bookie”? Fun. Kay, so every book I’ve clicked so far has gotten a bad review. I want to read a good one… But don’t know how I find out which is good unless I go through and read every review. Perhaps It would be cool to have a thumbs or stars or [valet] keys scoring next to each book so we could see a positive or negative opinion of book from skim? Just food for thought. Enjoying your blog… although slightly sad that the book in the mail on its way to me might suck. (Omnivores Dillema) Wish me luck… jP

    Aaron,
We met at Azalea in Hayes Valley when I sold you pants you didn’t want but have now fallen in love with. (wholly assumed) I got your business card when I spotted the Egger’s Wild Things jacket under your arm and we talked books. I love your site and have to admit that I gave The Sparrow (per your rec.) to three people on my Christmas/Hanukkah list. Thanks! Let’s talk book soon/let me sell you another Penfield shirt.

    Aaron:
Thanks for the mention about Sandy Marshall’s new epic bio about his father, “Beating a Dead Horse: The Life and Times of Jay Marshall.” I’ll sum up the book in a few words: This engaging, no-holds-barred biography captures the comedic genius of “the most famous celebrity no one ever heard of”: Renaissance man, magician Jay Marshall. Gut-bustingly funny. Please put this on your list of must-reads. Available at amazon.com
